What this means, in plain English

Alibaba is currently priced at $124.71. While it is above its 50-day average of $114.28, it remains below the 200-day average of $137.23. This 200-day average acts as a long-term trend line, and staying below it often signals that the broader momentum is currently heading downward.

The RSI, or Relative Strength Index—a gauge of whether a stock has climbed too far or fallen too fast—sits at 54.2. This is a neutral reading, meaning the stock is neither clearly overbought nor oversold. With the price stuck between a floor of $112.61 and a ceiling of $132.57, uncertainty remains high.

    Should you buy Alibaba stock?

Deciding whether to buy depends on your risk tolerance, but the current downward trend warrants extreme caution. Given that the price is below the $137.23 long-term average, many investors prefer to wait for clearer signs of strength before entering a position.

Alibaba is a massive company, but its price swings within the $91.99 to $192.67 range show it can be quite volatile. For a beginner, navigating these price fluctuations requires patience and a clear understanding of the risks involved in international markets.

What Alibaba insiders have been doing

Executives and directors must disclose their own trades in company stock. Of the last 6 disclosed transactions we hold for Alibaba, 4 were sales and 2 were open-market purchases. Insiders sell for many ordinary reasons — scheduled plans, tax, diversification — so a sale is not by itself a signal.
